5/5 Post

Yet do I fear thy nature; It is too full o' the milk of human kindness To catch the nearest way.
This quote is important to Macbeth because Lady Macbeth says this after reading Macbeth's letter about the witches' prophecy and explaining that she doesn't believe her husband is courageous enough to do it. If she would not have not been worried about this, Macbeth would most likely not have killed King Duncan and never have become king. Without Lady Macbeth, he would not have had a enough strength to murder him.

Fair is foul and foul is fair. This second quote is also important to Macbeth because it is the main theme of the play. This was also the witches philosophy of life. It also indicates things about the witches character that they are foul, but give fair advice. The witches also foreshadow what seems like a fair day for Macbeth and Scotland but instead will begin a chain of events that prove to be foul for both.

  2. Dear Katherine Ann,
Good job on the quotes. You picked very versatile quotes and I liked how both quotes are very important to the book's plot because they relate to the first prophecy.
    Keep up the Good Work,
